5/12: From Connie Howell
.
However, the new CH HSS is expected to begin early evening on 5/14., and it’s expected to take Solar Wind Speeds into the >600 km/sec range and cause Geomagnetic Storms. NOAA’s currently providing a 35% chance of HP = 5 (G1) Geomagnetic Storms in middle N. America, and a 70% chance of HP = 6 (G2) in the northern U.S. states beginning early evening 5/14.
.
Solar Flares are staying in the B- and C-Class range, but we’re still in an M Class Solar Flare Watch.
