5/5 from Connie Howell
We got to enjoy calm measurements across all Solar features beginning about 11.00a CDT this morning after a couple hours of HP = 5 (G1) Geomagnetic Storms last night, but Solar Wind Speed finally stayed below 400 km/sec after 11.00a CDT also. 😊
.
Solar Flares are staying in the B- and C-Class range. NOAA’s saying this should continue for at least a couple more days since most of the Sun Spots that are exiting our side of the Sun have lost strength. We’ve got 1 Sun Spot in the Sun-Earth Line rn that’s capable of sending M Class Solar Flares – we’ll see what it does when it gets into its Farewell Volley position in a couple days.
.
NOAA’s giving small chances for a CME Sideswipe tomorrow. They’re not expecting any significant changes to the HP Index when it arrives.
.
Tomorrow and most of 5/7 should provide comfortable Solar Wind Speeds, but we’ve got a new CH HSS expected overnight 5/7-5/8. NOAA giving the middle U.S. a 15% chance of HP = 5 (G1) Geomagnetic Storms with its arrival, and the northern U.S. states have a 40% chance of Hp = 6 (G2) Geomagnetic Storms.
.
Electron and Proton Saturation should stay below their Alert Thresholds for each of the coming 3 days, but Electron Saturation will likely climb over its Alert Threshold on 4/9.

Last night was the first good night’s sleep I’ve had in almost a week. About six solid hours or so. Minimal pain and still high pitched tinnitus.
