9/16 Recap

The expected Geomagnetic Storms for this evening haven’t arrived yet, but NOAA estimates they’re do any minute. We’re currently sitting at HP = 2.3. NOAA’s providing a 10% chance HP = 5 (G1) in middle America and 20% HP = 6 (G2) in northern U.S. states. We should be through with these by early morning tomorrow.
.
Solar Wind Speeds been pretty jostled today by the CME Sideswipes and the CH HSSs interactions. While Solar Wind Speed did slow down with the CMEs that came in last night, it stayed in the 500 km/sec range. Most forecasts are indicating the incoming CME Sideswipe shouldn’t do much more than extend our time in the 500 km/sec range, and it should keep Electron Saturation suppressed for at least 1 more day.
.
We had a slow day with Solar Flares today, only about 5 of them, all B Class Solar Flares. There’s nothing intimidating on the Sun’s surface rn with only 2 small Sun Spots far into their Farewell Volley positions, so we may see an M Class Solar Flare from one of them in the coming days, but it’s more likely they’ll be C Class Solar Flares. Proton Saturation’s restored to Normal levels.
