Solar Activity’s starting to pick up as one of the Sun Spots we’ve been watching enters its Farewell Volley position and starts tossing M Class Solar Flares, and 2 more Sun Spots in the Sun-Earth Line keep tossing C Class Solar Flares with CMEs that are expected to arrive over the next 2-3 days. These CMEs are likely to keep us in periodic Geomagnetic Storms, mainly overnight tonight and tomorrow night.

The UK’s MetOffice is expecting 2 of the incoming CMEs to merge enroute and arrive tonight. NOAA’s providing a 30% chance HP = 5 (G1) Geomagnetic Storms tonight in the middle U.S., and 65% chance HP = 6 (G2) in northern U.S. states.

A 3rd CME tossed our way on 6/27 is expected overnight 7/1-7/2, and NOAA’s providing a 20% chance HP = 5 (G1) Geomagnetic Storms in middle U.S., and a 55% chance HP = 6 (G2) Geomagnetic Storms in northern U.S. states
