7/10 Recap

Today was calmer than yesterday’s forecast anticipated, but still uncomfortable for those who respond to Solar Wind Speed and Electron Saturation. Good News – it looks like NOAA’s back on point with their Forecasts today and their forecasts are more positive than last night’s. Yay!
.
Solar Flares were predominantly calm today, mainly staying in the B Class range with 1 C Class Solar Flare. All Sun Spots have been downgraded to capable of B or C Class Solar Flares.
.
Our Geomagnetics were calm, reaching no higher than HP = 4.0. Similar conditions are expected tomorrow before the 2nd CH HSS and CME Sideswipe arrive. NOAA’s only providing a 10% chance of HP = 5 (G1) Geomagnetic Storms in middle N. America and 35% chance of HP = 6 (G2) Geomagnetic Storms in the northern U.S. states beginning 7/12 mid-morning CDT, and only briefly.
.
Solar Wind Speed was our biggest antagonist today, staying mainly in the 600 km/sec range most of the day. It’s currently down in the 500 km/sec range, and should drop some more tomorrow before rising on 7/12 with the CME Sideswipe and 2nd CH HSS.
.
Electron Saturation’s mainly hovering around its Alert Threshold, and should continue to do so for the next 3 days with CH HSS being the driving factor. Proton Saturation’s at Normal levels, and will likely stay there each of the coming 3 days.
