7/25 Recap

.
Today was calmer than the past couple of days. We averaged HP = 2.0, and our Solar Wind Speed finally got into the 400 km/sec range this evening. Tomorrow should be similar but with continuing drops in Solar Wind Speed. NOAA’s thinking we may have a CME Sideswipe 7/27 afternoon into evening CDT and the forecasts predominantly show we won’t exceed HP = 3.6, but NOAA’s providing a 20% chance middle North America will reach HP = 5 (G1) and a 55% chance the northern U.S. states may reach HP = 6 (G2). They expect everything’s going to calm back down on 7/28.
.
Electron Saturation is still crossing its Alert Threshold in the afternoon into evening. It’ll probably continue to do that until the 7/27 CME Sideswipe arrives, then it should stay below its Alert Threshold until the next CH HSS.
.
Solar Flares are mainly staying in the B Class range with a couple forays into the C Class range. We’ve got 2 Sun Spots keeping us in a M Class solar Flare Watch, 1 incoming, and 1 preparing to enter its Farewell Volley position. The second is the most likely to start delivering those over the next week. Proton Saturation is staying at Normal levels.
