7/27 Recap

Today was a calmer day!

It looks like we spent the majority of the day in a mix of residual CH HSS and 7/24 CME Sideswipe. Solar Wind Density stayed below 5.0/cm3 and Solar Wind Speed averaged 400 km/sec today. There were no Geomagnetic Storms with this CME. NOAA’s expecting the next 2 days to show slower Solar Wind Speeds and calm Geomagnetics.

We had 1 M Class Solar Flare late last night from the Earth-facing Sun Spot. NOAA’s evaluating it for CME potential. NOAA’s saying yesterday morning’s M3.2 Solar Flare from the same Sun Spot produced a CME that should arrive overnight 7/30-7/31.

Electron Saturation rose above its Alert Threshold again today, but as the CME settles in around Earth, it may carry off enough electrons to keep Electron Saturation below its Alert Threshold for the next 3 days. Proton Saturation is steady at Normal levels.
