Massive Filament Eruption

SUN TEARS OPEN AS MASSIVE FILAMENT ERUPTS
Something changed on the Sun overnight.
Early this morning, a massive filament lifted off and erupted into space.
But that’s not the only thing grabbing our attention.
An enormous dark structure is stretching across a huge portion of the Earth-facing Sun, surrounded by blazing active regions.
And when the Sun opens up like this, Earth can feel the effects.
Fast solar wind can pour through these openings and race outward toward Earth. If we’re in its path, it can shake up Earth’s magnetic field, trigger stronger auroras and, if conditions intensify enough, interfere with radio communications and GPS.
And with a fresh eruption happening at the same time, solar activity just took another dramatic turn.
