CME may impact earth June 30

An impressive, Earth-directed CME was seen yesterday in coronagraph imagery which is slow-moving yet still may impact Earth on June 30. Impact times range from early on the 30th (NOAA SWPC) to midday (NASA M2M) to late in the evening (HUXt).
The expected geomagnetic effects of this *potential* arrival are highly uncertain. We could see a small bump in the solar wind without much to show for it or a geomagnetic storm, potentially minor to moderate. We will just have to wait and see.
The latest geospace forecast discussion from NOAA SWPC mentions this CME:
“Periods of active conditions are likely on 28 Jun due to the negative polarity CH HSS influences and a potential CME arrival. Mostly quiet conditions are expected on 29 Jun. Active to isolated minor storm (R1-Minor) conditions are expected on 30 Jun due to a potential CME arrival.”
