Strong Geomagnetic Storm Alert

NOAA’s Space Weather Prediction Center says geomagnetic activity has increased, with G3 storm levels now reached.
That means Earth’s magnetic field is being hit hard enough to raise the chance of visible auroras much farther south than normal, especially where skies are clear and darkness lines up with the active window.
A G3 storm can also bring some manageable technology effects, including possible power grid fluctuations, minor satellite operation issues, and intermittent GPS degradation.
For most people, the main thing to watch is the sky. If you are under or near the aurora forecast zone tonight, this could be one of those nights where the northern lights push much farther than usual.
Conditions can change quickly during geomagnetic storms, so the next few hours matter.
