Well, we’ve had 2 days of Space Weather and Lunar drama and we’re finally settling down into calmer conditions! Whew!

We had mainly B Class Solar Flares today, and all the C Class Solar Flares were from the large Sun Spot we’ve been watching. It may start tossing M Class Solar Flares tomorrow when it reaches its Farewell Volley position.

We did have a couple hours of Geomagnetic Storming last night, far less than anticipated. According to NOAA, we are past those now and the next few days will bring calm measures on the HP Index.

The Solar Wind chart indicates we’re still sitting in a CH HSS + CME mix, with a slight strengthening of the CMEs that’s keeping Solar Wind Density >10/cm3. Solar Wind Speed’s in the 400 km/sec range. I’m not seeing any indications it’ll reach the forecasted >500 km/sec range, but it’ll take a few days to get back down to <400 km/sec. . Electron Saturation’s at Low-Moderate levels. It should stay there since there’s no new incoming Coronal Holes, but NOAA’s expecting it to rise to its Alert Threshold on 8/31. Proton Saturation’s at Normal levels and should stay there for the next 3 days. Solar Flare Conditions B Class Solar Flares .
