7/28 Recap

Today was a fairly calm day with only C Class Solar Flares and Solar Wind Speeds below 400 km/sec. The CME in the CME+CH HSS mix that’s currently surrounding our Earth wasn’t strong enough to carry off many electrons, so Electron saturation rose above its Alert Threshold today. Tomorrow’s space weather should be similar in all respects, which is a good thing considering the Full Moon’s peaking tomorrow morning CDT timezone.

Mid-afternoon to late evening CDT on 7/30 2 CME Sideswipes are expected to pass over Earth. Neither, even in combo, are expected to raise our Geomagnetics above HP = 4.0, but Solar Wind Speed will likely rise back into the 400 km/sec range late on 7/30, and may even reach the 500 km/sec range on 7/31.
