8/10 Recap

Space weather calmed down today as the CME departed Earth. Our HP Index averaged HP = 1.0, and Solar Wind Speed stayed below 400 km/sec consistently beginning about noon CDT. We’ll have another day of calm across all features we follow before the new CH HSS and next CME arrive, taking us into brief Geomagnetic Storms and Solar Wind Speeds >400 km/sec beginning about midnight CDT tomorrow night. NOAA’s providing a 25% HP = 5 (G1) Geomagnetic Storms in middle N. America and 55% HP = 6 (G2) Geomagnetic Storms in the northern U.S. states on 8/12, mainly in the early morning hours CDT.

Solar Flares were mainly B Class Solar Flares with several C Class Solar Flares from the exiting Sun Spot. We should have mainly B Class Solar Flares for the next 3 days.
