Space Weather was calmer today. 😊 . We had only C Class Solar Flares today but we’re still in range for 2 Exiting Sun Spots, 1 Sun Spot in the Sun-Earth Magnetic Line, and 3 Incoming Sun Spots that are exchanging plasma and keeping the […]
So today was a day where just about everything we monitor was either at, or approached, uncomfortable levels – except our Geomagnetics, those continued to calm down! . We had a 2:40 long duration M Class Solar Flare this morning that deposited enough Protons in […]
It appears the 8/16 & 8/17 CMEs missed Earth, so the Geomagnetic Storm Watches Expired, and Solar Wind Speed had a chance to slow down to 1K pfu Watch Connie Howell
Today our Space Weather was jostled across almost every feature we measure! The CH HSSs have settled in and slightly overwhelmed the 8/14 CME, taking Solar Wind into the 600 km/sec range, though we averaged Solar Wind Speeds in the 500 km/sec range. When the […]
• We had, and have, a pretty thorough mixing of CH HSS and the 8/14 CME today. Next 3 days liable to be unpleasant due to CME Sideswipes, CH HSS, and likely Electron Saturation levels rising to >1K pfu, but everything should settle down in […]
Today was pretty calm across all measures, but the next 3 days look like we’ll be in and out of Geomagnetic Storms, and our Solar Wind Speeds may reach as high as 600 km/sec any of the next 3 days. . The 8/14 CME arrived […]
Today was another quiet day in space weather, but things are expected to change when the CME arrives tomorrow, sometime in the morning CDT. Most forecasts are anticipating it’ll bring Solar Wind Speeds into the 500 km/sec, and it looks like it’ll last the day, […]
NOW FACING EARTH Look at what has happened on the Sun. The massive coronal holes we showed you just a couple of days ago have nearly doubled in size. And now they’re facing Earth. High-speed solar wind is pouring out of these enormous openings in […]
