The expected Geomagnetic Storms for this evening haven’t arrived yet, but NOAA estimates they’re do any minute. We’re currently sitting at HP = 2.3. NOAA’s providing a 10% chance HP = 5 (G1) in middle America and 20% HP = 6 (G2) in northern U.S. […]

So Good News, we missed the Geomagnetic Storms overnight last night! Not So Good News – Geomagnetic Storms are “most likely” overnight 9/16-9/17, but NOAA’s only providing 5-10% chance HP = 5 (G1) in middle N. America, and 20% chance HP = 6 (G2) in […]

Brief Geomagnetic Storms most likely overnight tonight and overnight 9/16-9/17. NOAA’s providing 5% chance HP = 5 (G1) Geomagnetic Storms in middle N. America both nights, and 20% chance HP = 6 (G2) Geomagnetic Storms in the northern U.S. states both nights. . CH HSS […]

Today was very calm in Solar Flares, the HP Index, and Proton Saturation. Solar Wind Speed doggedly hung out around 400 km/sec and Electron Saturation undulated above and below its Alert Threshold twice over the last 24 hours. While NOAA’s anticipating everything will be calm […]

Today was fairly quiet. We had B Class Solar Flares, low HP Index and Proton Saturation stayed at Normal levels. Solar Wind Speed dropped a little, but stayed in the 400 km/sec range. NOAA’s saying all 3 of these measures are supposed to be quiet […]

The 3 expected CMEs arrived yesterday but were only mildly impactful, taking our Solar Wind Speeds from ~400 km/sec to ~450 km/sec, where they’ve held steady through today. No Geomagnetic Storms accompanied these CMEs and they completed their travels over Earth around 7.00p CDT last […]

It’s been a rather jostling day with the CME+CH HSS combo causing periods of HP = 5 (G1) Geomagnetic Storms, and the CH HSS taking dominance in the Solar Winds and dumping electrons in our magnetosphere to the point where it raised Electron Saturation above […]
