M7.0 Solar Flare Erupts From Earth-Facing AR 4513 ☀️ 25 August 2026 A substantial M7.0 solar flare has just erupted from active region AR 4513, currently positioned on the Earth-facing side of the Sun. SolarHam reports signs of coronal dimming following the eruption, raising the […]

Today was a fairly calm day. 😊 . Solar Wind Speed finally fell below 400 km/sec this evening, and it looks like we’ll have a few days of Solar Wind Speeds in this range before the next CH HSS and HP = 5 (G1) arrive […]

Space Weather was calmer today. 😊 . We had only C Class Solar Flares today but we’re still in range for 2 Exiting Sun Spots, 1 Sun Spot in the Sun-Earth Magnetic Line, and 3 Incoming Sun Spots that are exchanging plasma and keeping the […]

So today was a day where just about everything we monitor was either at, or approached, uncomfortable levels – except our Geomagnetics, those continued to calm down! . We had a 2:40 long duration M Class Solar Flare this morning that deposited enough Protons in […]

It appears the 8/16 & 8/17 CMEs missed Earth, so the Geomagnetic Storm Watches Expired, and Solar Wind Speed had a chance to slow down to 1K pfu Watch Connie Howell

Today our Space Weather was jostled across almost every feature we measure! The CH HSSs have settled in and slightly overwhelmed the 8/14 CME, taking Solar Wind into the 600 km/sec range, though we averaged Solar Wind Speeds in the 500 km/sec range. When the […]

• We had, and have, a pretty thorough mixing of CH HSS and the 8/14 CME today. Next 3 days liable to be unpleasant due to CME Sideswipes, CH HSS, and likely Electron Saturation levels rising to >1K pfu, but everything should settle down in […]
