SUN TEARS OPEN AS MASSIVE FILAMENT ERUPTS Something changed on the Sun overnight. Early this morning, a massive filament lifted off and erupted into space. But that’s not the only thing grabbing our attention. An enormous dark structure is stretching across a huge portion of […]
The Schumann Resonance has been unusually quiet lately, and then all of a sudden THIS showed up. A strong burst of activity suddenly lit up the chart today and continued for hours. And this wasn’t one quick spike. The strongest portion of the activity spread […]
We had another quiet day today, but that’s expected to change at any minute due to an incoming CH HSS that’s expected to take us into the 400 km/sec range with Solar Wind Speed, and it’s expected to cause brief Geomagnetic Storms. The brunt of […]
Today was a pretty calm in space weather. We got down below 400 km/sec this afternoon CDT, and everything else was within comfortable levels. We’ll have one more day of these conditions before the next CH HSS arrives mid-evening CDT on 8/14. Most forecasts indicate […]
Most space weather was pretty calm today, but the 8/8 CME that was expected tomorrow arrived today, taking Solar Wind Speeds into the 400 km/sec range. While it did raise our HP Index from HP = 0.3 Average @ 6.00a CDT this morning, to HP […]
Space weather calmed down today as the CME departed Earth. Our HP Index averaged HP = 1.0, and Solar Wind Speed stayed below 400 km/sec consistently beginning about noon CDT. We’ll have another day of calm across all features we follow before the new CH […]
Things calmed down quite a bit with our Geomagnetics today after yesterday’s periodic Geomagnetic Storming ended around 5.00p CDT last night. Today we averaged HP = 1.0. We should see similar Geomagnetics tomorrow and early 8/11 before the next round of CME plasma and CH […]
An extremely slow-moving solar storm is passing over Earth today and I’ve been waiting to see if it might become newsworthy. It has taken a while, but Earth is finally responding in a promising way. In the last hour or so AE has begun to […]
